WJCL 22 News

Points of Pride

  • Hired, while still a junior in college, as a part-time weekend reporter. Three weeks later, I was brought on full time. After graduating from Georgia Southern University, I was promoted to anchor weekend evenings and begin investigative reporting.
  • Work primarily alone, as a one-man-band, shooting, writing, editing and reporting my pieces for our 5, 6, 7, and 11 newscasts, and website.
  • Since joining, here are some reporting highlights:
    • Lead coverage of the disappearance and death of Quinton Simon, and the later trial and conviction of his mother.
    • Provided live reports during Hurricanes Ian, Nicole (2022), Idalia (2023), Debby and Helene (2024)
    • Was the first reporter on the ground after the Sapelo Island gangway collapse, that killed seven and injured dozens more.
    • Filed a half dozen reports and more than two dozen lives shots from Plains, GA, after the deaths of President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
    • Broke news on several stories, including overlooked overtime in the Savannah Police Dept., Liberty County Sheriff misappropriating funds, the mysterious deaths of two K-9 deputies in Hampton County, SC, the arrest and indictment of rapper Quando Rondo, Herschel Walker's bid for U.S. Senate, the failed chiropractic procedure that left a recent college graduate paralyzed, just to name a few, and the Memorial Day boat crash that killed five.
  • Currently on contract through September 2025
